Competition Manager
All applicants will need a *Competition Manager*. For applicants 18 and under, this is a parent/guardian who can receive all the information about the competition as you progress through the different phases. For applicants over 18, your *Competition Manager* can be a parent, guardian or supporter who is over 18 years of age and can serve as an emergency contact for you. When you complete the application you will need to list a name, relationship to you, and telephone number of your *Competition Manager*.
Please Check Your Conflicts
All youth selected as Semi-Finalists in the competition will be expected to attend the weeklong intensive training and finale event from August 13th - 21st 2016. The dates for the coaching sessions have all been pre-scheduled and it is very important that all Semi-Finalists and Parents/Guardians make themselves available with reliable transportation arrangements for FULL participation. Please check the schedule on the ABOUT page to ensure that complete commitment can be made to participate in the training BEFORE APPLYING. If you know you have a conflicting date, you will be asked to list it in the application. We may make minor concessions to the schedule for extenuating conflicts when possible. Please be honest with us about your availability.
Successful Audition Video
The most important thing about your audition video is that we need to be able to clearly see and hear you deliver the monologue. Make sure your video has good volume and good lighting so we can clearly see your face.
Please DO NOT use any props, costumes, or elaborate make up. We just want to see you.
The monologue doesn't need to be memorized, but try to get as much off the page as possible and deliver it directly into the camera. It may feel strange speaking into a cold camera lens, but if you connect with your camera, we will connect more with you as we review your audition.
Please DO NOT send us more than one audition video, multiple applications with different videos, or multiple readings of the same monologue in a single video. Send us what you feel is your best one take of the monologue you selected. We will be able to see if you are right to move on to the next phase of the competition from your one video.
Please DO NOT edit your video to include any slide show or elaborate opening credits/introduction. We just need to see you perform your monologue.
If you want to do an introduction or slate in your video, just tell us your name and the title of the monologue you are performing. At the end of the monologue you can close with a brief "Thank You".
If you have any questions about what makes a successful video audition, please watch the video submissions from youth who were semifinalists in our 2015 cohort. The video auditions are all clear, visible, audible, and we get a strong sense of who each young person is as an actor.
